Back in Ohio

We have arrived!  Our long day began with a 4:00 a.m. wake-up call.  We left for the airport before 5:00 and got through check-in and customs with no hassles or delays.  We managed to trek from one corner of the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport to the very opposite corner for our connecting flight and even had time for a quick pizza lunch.  We arrived at the Wright-Patterson Airport in Dayton by 4:30 p.m. (Ohio time so 2:30 back home).  By the time we retrieved our luggage, picked up our rental car and got to our hotel it was 5:30.   We dumped all our bags in the room and headed to the dining room for supper.  We took a quick trip to Meijer to pick up a few groceries ... and by groceries I mean cheese and sour cream for Dawsyn.   It's 9:30 now and I've got the bags unpacked and am feeling settled.  Ben and Dawsyn are already in bed!  


Dawsyn has been absolutely unbelievable today!  Up so early in the morning, playing the game of "hurry up and wait" through airports, sitting countless hours restricted to an air plane seat and dashing (and we really did move!) from one gate to the other through Minneapolis and there has not been one word of complaint or whine out of her all day!  She napped a little on the plane but mostly was content to watch a movie on her iPod and play a couple of games of Go Fish.  She never once asked to be carried, which is a good thing because we certainly can't do that any more!    Miss Campbell would be very proud of how well Dawsyn behaved like a ten-year old today!!


It is amazing how quickly everything felt familiar.  It seems like yesterday we were here!  However, now that we are settled into the suite that will be our home for the next two weeks, I am feeling distinctly lonely!  As we moved into our room I commented that this is the block that Joel and Lisa were in last time.  In the dining room we sat at the table we shared with Sean and Bethany.  I know that we are going to meet a whole group of people who will be added to our 4 Paws Family but I'm sure going to be missing those of you who already have a place in my heart!   I know that I will catch myself looking for you every day!


Well, I think that's it for tonight's update.  It has been a long day and I think I'm going to join the "sleepers".
